The Light of God in the Dark Night of the Soul

Have you ever experienced a dark night of the soul? A time when you felt so lost, so alone, so desperately hopeless that you felt you were being swallowed whole by the darkest of nights?

These times in our lives can feel endless... like a night that will never see the light of dawn. We wake up, feeling empty. Going through the motions of the day. Wondering what it's all for.

What is the point? Why am I here? Who am I meant to be?

We may scream. Cry. Beg. Plead. Pray. Wonder if death is the only escape from a life that feels consumed by suffering.

A deep emptiness fills our hearts, as we question our very existence. Questioning everything. Being certain of nothing.

And yet... a glimmer of light remains... calling us forward. Like a candle flickering in a cold winter storm, it burns within, the heat barely noticeable, but present none the less.

I have journeyed through many dark nights... so many that I sometimes wonder if I will ever truly escape the darkness. Even now, as I write, I am in the midst of it all. Questioning. Doubting. Aching. Praying to be released from it's harsh grip.

And as I do, I suddenly see the Light. Feel the presence. Know the Truth.

The only cure to a dark night such as this... is the Light of God.
